Magnificat
My soul doth magnify the Lord:
and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
For he hath regarded:
the lowliness of his handmaiden.
For behold, from henceforth:
all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath magnified me:
and holy is his Name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him:
throughout all generations.
He hath shewed strength with his arm:
he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seat:
and hath exalted the humble and meek.
He hath filled the hungry with good things:
and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He remembering his mercy hath holpen his servant Israel:
as he promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed for ever.
Glory be to the Father
And to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost:
As it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
world without end, Amen
Mon âme magnifie le Seigneur :
et mon esprit se réjouit en Dieu mon Sauveur.
Car il a considéré :
l'humilité de sa servante.
Car voici, dès à présent :
toutes les générations me diront bienheureuse.
Car le Puissant m'a magnifiée :
et saint est son Nom.
Et sa miséricorde est sur ceux qui le craignent :
à travers toutes les générations.
Il a montré la force de son bras :
Il a dispersé les orgueilleux dans l'imagination de leur coeur.
Il a renversé les puissants de leur siège :
et il a élevé les humbles et les doux.
Il a rassasié de biens les affamés :
et les riches, il les a renvoyés sans rien.
Il s'est souvenu de sa miséricorde et a sauvé son serviteur Israël :
comme il l'avait promis à nos ancêtres, Abraham et sa postérité pour toujours.
Gloire au Père
et au Fils, et au Saint-Esprit :
Comme il était au commencement,
c'est maintenant et ce sera toujours le cas,
dans un monde sans fin, Amen
Nunc Dimittis
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace,
according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles,
and to be the glory of thy people Israel.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Maintenant, Seigneur, laisse ton serviteur s'en aller en paix,
conformément à ta parole.
Car mes yeux ont vu ton salut,
que tu as préparé devant tous les peuples ;
Pour être une lumière qui éclaire les nations,
et pour être la gloire de ton peuple, Israël.
Gloire au Père, et au Fils,
et au Saint-Esprit ;
comme il était au commencement, maintenant,
